Ajay Devgan and crew get a taste of real cops

It was an anti-climax for Ajay Devgan and his film crew shooting a movie on the police when they got a taste of real cops.

Some of the crew members even spent some time in the lock-up after annoying Delhi policemen.

Their crime – changing the board of Tughlaq Road Police Station without permission. The crew, shooting the Hindi movie Sunday, wanted to give the station a look of Chanakyapuri Police Station and were in the process of doing so when the police cracked down on them.

Drama began when Devgan and his unit reached the Tughlaq Road station for shooting a short scene of the star. The shot involved Devgan, who plays a cop in the film, getting out of a police jeep and entering the Chanakyapuri Police Station.

However, things turned awry when crew members allegedly replaced the board and began ‘using’ the SHO’s office.

SHO Madanjeet Singh Randhawa, who was out on MCD poll duties, descended on the scene and gave a ‘mouthful’ to the action hero and the crew members, who then ‘vanished into thin air’ after the verbal onslaught.

“We never gave them permission for changing the board of the police station. It was supposed to be a short scene and they even started using by office,” a furious Singh said when asked about the incident.

Three film crew members were put in the lock-up of the police station for some time and were let off after an ‘apology’ by them.

According to police, the unit had been granted permission to carry out shooting at the station on March 23, 24 and 25.

However, the unit had failed to complete shooting on those dates and sought permission for picturising a short scene.
