The trade news is that Abbas-Mustan’s Mr Fraud has been shelved.The film being directed by the duo for Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision, had been in theworks for almost three years.

After a marathon schedule in London, shooting came to a stand still following Sanjay Dutt’s legal problems. A schedule planned for last November had to be scraped because Dutt was jailed.

“The production house and the director are keen to wrap up the film but the chances are bleak. Both the leading men, Sanjay and Ajay Devgan are busy with other commitments. It’s nearly impossible to get their combination dates,” according to a source.

Booked ‘Solid’

It is being argued that Dutt is not happy that Devgan has opted out of his home production film Beehad being directed by Milan Luthria. Meanwhile Dutt has dropped out of Vishal Bharadwaj’s Julia.

Result: Beehad has been put on hold while Julia has been scrapped. Dharam Oberoi who’s the CEO of Dutt’s production house, insists that the actor intends to complete all his pending projects before he starts on any new movies, including his home productions.

“He will complete Mr Fraud too,” assures Oberoi, adding, “But he’s booked solid for the next few months.”

Prod him on Dutt’s reported annoyance with Devgan and Oberoi retorts, “There are no issues on that front. They’re both very busy. We’re trying to work out combination dates.. but it’s not easy.”
