Kareena Kapoor is everywhere these days - when she isn’t gracing the covers of fashion maga zines, she’s busy lending her voice to a fashionable animated doggy or setting the stage on fire with her performances.

The much-hyped Roadside Romeo is just out and Golmaal Returns is next where Kareena is sharing screen space with the likes of Ajay Devgan, Shreyas Talpade, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Amrita Arora in the film. If one goes by the promos, it is Kareena who is the biggest superstar of the film with her role which is a spoof on the saasbahu addiction in the country. “My character is called Ekta, named after Ekta Kapoor of Balaji Telefilms who started the saas-bahu craze in the country. My character loves to watch such serials and her favourites are Kkyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kasautii Zindagi Ki and Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii. She even dresses up like the characters in the soaps, wearing sindoor, mangalsutra and bindi,” she exclaims. Ekta is suspicious by nature, a la the telly women, and suspects her husband of having an extramarital affair.

Ajay Devgan, who plays the husband, was her hubby in Omkara too.

“Yes, we look good together and get along pretty well. Ajay is a thorough gentleman. We share a great rapport and that shows in our screen chemistry,” she says. “We both are power performers and understand each other well,” she adds. Incidentally, Kareena had dropped out of a film Chori Chori, which was to be her first with Ajay. But after she dropped out of that one, it was Omkara that brought the actors together for the first time and established her as an actress and not just a pretty face.

Golmaal Returns stars Tusshar Kapoor too whose first leading lady was Bebo when he debuted with Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai. The two star kids also did ‘Jeena Sirrf Merre Liye’ together. The actress is all praises for Tusshar. “He is a nice, sweet guy. In ‘Golmaal Returns’, he plays a brother figure to me even though we have played lovers in our earlier films,” she says.

Though Kareena is playing a TV buff in the film, she’s anything but that in her real life. “I don’t watch too much TV. The only thing I watch is films and entertainment news sometimes. But never saas-bahu serials. I had seen ‘Golmaal’ and I loved that film. Besides, Rohit Shetty seems to be a great director. After seeing the way he treated the film, I have become his fan,” she says.

Though, Roadside Romeo didn’t do as well as it was expected to, Bebo had a blast dubbing for the doggy. In the animated flick, she’s playing a dog Laila, who is stars opposite Saif Ali Khan’s character Romeo.

“It was an interesting experience. Many international mainstream stars dub for animated characters but I think this is the first time something like this has happened in India,” she says.

Though Sameera Reddy and Juhi Chawla too are now lending their voice to cartoon characters, Kareena still remains the first actress to do such a film.

“To prepare for this role, I watched a few Hollywood animations and rehearsed a lot. The film is testimony to the tremendous evolution of dubbing in the Hindi film industry,” she exclaims. The fact that Saif was also dubbing for the lead character made the project all the more exciting for this Kapoor girl.

Kareena is still in the news for her sexy, new look. Everyone’s talking about size zero, thanks to her toned avatar.

“Yes, I know people liked my look in Tashan,” she says. Of course, there were more brickbats than bouquets, slamming Kareena for her ‘unhealthy’ weight loss and for setting a wrong example to young girls.

“I don’t think being slim means being unhealthy. It’s the media that’s calling me thin and size zero. I haven’t been starving myself. In fact, I am a big foodie,” she defends.
