Ajay Devgan starrer Golmaal Returns, which was released during Diwali, had a 95 per cent opening. This has surprised the actor because he didn’t anticipate such a huge opening.

He says “I don’t know what worked for the film. We knew it would work, but never expected it would be this big. I have been told that it had the biggest opening in the last 5-6 years. I am also told that the first week’s collection is something totally unheard of. It is shocking. I didn’t expect this at all. I guess there is some kind of luck attached.”

However, Ajay is not allowing himself to fly high after the success. “I know there is yet another Friday coming up where I might have to hit a low. So, its better that I don’t fly too high now,” he says humbly.

After his directorial debut U, Me Aur Hum, Ajay plans to direct another film soon. “I have been working on a script on dark humour for last six months. I will start it as soon as I have some time,” he says. The actor admits that he’s always been a little laidback as far as planning his life is concerned.

He says, “My journey in Bollywood just happened. I have never had any long-term goals. I live for the moment. I work hard and don’t think about what it will bring me the next day. I flow with the tide and if you do that, things are bound to work for you.”

Ajay says luck has been a constant factor in his career. “I am lucky that people have accepted me in all kinds of roles. Not many can boast of this. That’s what keeps me going because I know I can do things differently,” he says.

A man of few words, Ajay doesn’t believe in wasting his breath on talking too much. “I only speak what is important. I don’t believe in going on and on about something. My one line says everything. It should always be quality over quantity,” he says.

But there is one thing that he thinks which cannot be described even by words - the feeling of being a father. “What I feel after I have become a father can only be felt by a father and understood by a father. I can’t explain that in words.

After your child is born, suddenly everything changes. You become more responsible and all your decisions are taken accordingly. Whatever worries you have during the day, one glimpse of your child and everything is forgotten. You simply stop thinking about yourself. I am not reckless, thanks to my child. My short-term decisions are also based on the effect it will have on my family. I would never do the things I did 10 years ago, because now my family’s feelings come first,” he says.
