To step into the shoes of Jaya Bhaduri who played lonesome widow Radha in the original Sholay, filmmaker Ramgopal Varma has lined up Bollywood diva Sushmita Sen.

It is learnt that in Ramgopal Varma’s Ke Sholay, Sen will not take the name of the original character Radha. She has been named Devi instead. Also, gone is Radha’s trademark white cotton sari, Sushmita as Devi will dress in black throughout.

Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal, who is playing Thakur in Ram Gopal Varma’s “Sholay”, virtually lost his voice while enacting some dramatic scenes for the film on Diwali day.

“The scenes were very dramatic. They required me to scream and shout a lot. Resultantly, I had almost lost my voice,” said Mohanlal, almost whispering.
