Fans of the Ajay Devgan-Rajkumar Santoshi combo are counting the days left for their latest hard-hitting venture, HALLA BOL, to hit the screens.

Well, we do not blame them, keeping the previous track record of the team in mind. Just to recall, the two have given us movies like, LAJJA (2001), THE LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH (2002) and KHAKEE (2004), all of which are standout examples and need no discussions.

Not many people know that Ajay Devgan is a really good cook. The entire cast and crewmembers are enjoying it on the sets of his directorial debut ‘U Me Aur Hum’. He brings homemade food and also makes barbeque tikkas.

A source says, “The last schedule was brilliant. The actors used to have a picnic of sorts every day during lunch. Ajay’s chicken curry and grilled fish was quite a hit on the sets.

” The others casts of the film - Divya Dutta, Sumeet Raghavan, Isha Sharvani and Karan Khanna all brings their dabbas on the sets and get together for lunch.

Co-star Vidya Balan was at the receiving end of actor Ajay Devgan ’s prank. The impression of a brooding and serious persona that Ajay Devgan gives is in sharp contrast to his real personality. The actor is quite a prankster when it comes to pulling a fast one on his peers and co-stars.

He did it during the making of Cash and during the shooting of his directorial debut U Me Aur Hum . Also, while filming director Rajkumar Santoshi ’s Halla Bol , Ajay did not spare his co-star Vidya Balan.

Ajay Devgan, on Wednesday was seen trying to do his bit for the youth of the country. He was the first member of the new youth initiative taken up by the Congress Party.

He inaugurated a social organization for the youth called “YUVA Foundation of Mumbai” floated by Sanjeev Kalle (Billu) to fight against corruption. Over 2500 children were given gift hampers and were left spell bound with the variety of entertainment programs.

Inaugurating the forum Ajay Devgan said, “I am glad that Sanjeev has taken this initiative to guide the youth. Coming from a responsible politician this is a very welcome step, which will help integrate the younger members of society to the mainstream. The Jessica Lal murder case has caught the attention of director Raj Kumar Santoshi, who has made films like The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Khakee. His latest film, Halla Bol, starring Ajay Devgan [Images] and Vidya Balan [Images], is about this incident.

Santoshi highlights this case which rocked the nation for seven years. Jessica was murdered in 1999 while serving at a bar in New Delhi by Manu Sharma, son of an influential political leader.

Ajay devgan rolls up his sleeves

Not many people know that Ajay is a good chef. Recently, the cast and crew members of Ajay’s directorial debut, U Me Aur Hum, got a taste of his cooking.

From what we hear, Ajay asked all actors to bring home-made khana on the sets. When the actors reported to the sets, they were surprised to see Ajay bending over a barbeque, making smoking tikkas in the morning.

You’ve been out of circulation for ages, what’s been keeping you so busy?
