Lately, Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan have been getting along like a house on fire while shooting together for Vipul Shah’s London Dreams. While the two actors had earlier starred together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, it was only after they signed their latest film that they started bonding on the film’s sets.

But more than Salman and Ajay, it is the former’s girlfriend Katrina who is benefitting the most from this newfound friendship. Consequently, Katrina has now signed Ajay Devgan’s home production to be directed by Rohit Shetty.

Our source from the unit of London Dreams said, “Earlier, Ajay and Salman had worked with Bhansali but they were not close friends. However, they got along famously during the London and Chandigarh schedule of London Dreams. After discovering that they quite enjoy each other’s company, they started hanging out together after pack up every day. Ajay Devgan is determined not to copy Haji Mastan when he plays the alleged smuggler in Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time in Mumbai.

But the problem is who will play Sona, the starlet who formed an Abu Salem-Monica Bedi kind of alliance in the 1970s?

Just like Salem, Mastan ‘requested’ filmmakers. Amitabh Bachchan played a character inspired by the 1970s’ smuggler Haji Mastan in Yash Chopra’s Deewaar. Continue reading ‘“I won’t copy Haji Mastan” – Ajay Devgan’

London Dreams takes off where Rock On!! left in 2008. Rock music seems to be the flavour Bollywood is relishing — and Ajay Devgan is the next rock star.

London Dreams, which is said to be a love triangle between Salman Khan, Asin Thottumkal and Devgan, has all three of them as singers with music bands. Khan plays a boy from Punjab and sports a rustic look with long hair and even a turban, but it is Devgan who has a modish avatar. His ash-blonde highlights on spiked hair are just the tip of the makeover iceberg. Continue reading ‘Now it is Ajay Devgan’s turn to be a rock star’

Smoking ban at airport will get more stringent in just a week’s time. Thanks to Ajay Devgan. He just didn’t draw flak for puffing at a public place, but also jolted the sleeping airport authorities awake.

Though the October 2008 notification of smoking ban at public places authorized the airport managers/in-charges to penalize those violating the ban in their area, the authorities seemed to be unaware of the fact. A fortnight ago, when the cine star was spotted lighting up a cigarette, it was UT police which booked him rather than the airport authorities. Now, a few officers of the airport would be identified and authorized to book those violating the smoking ban on the premises. The challan book is being printed for the purpose. One of the keenly awaited movies of this year is the Ajay Devgan- Salman Khan-Asin starrer London Dreams directed by Vipul Shah. After completing major portions of the film in London and Paris, the cast and crew are now busy canning some scenes in and around Chandigarh.

Salman and Ajay were spotted shooting for the film at a railway station in Mohali and what was most interesting was their get-ups. While Ajay was looking cool wearing a mud colored jacket (on top of a bright red T-shirt) and jeans, it was Salman who was seen in a rather amusing avatar. Sallu was dressed as a typical person from the interiors of Northern India sporting an ordinary checked shirt with a sweater and a pagdi. Continue reading ‘Salman and Ajay on sets of London Dreams’
